If the St Thomas Resort Hotel you're staying at doesn't have its own incredible beach, you won't have to go far to find one. In fact, all of the Virgin Islands have spectacular, white sandy beaches so bring your sunglasses and get ready to swim and snorkel in some Caribbean's most pristine waters.
St John VI Beaches
Trunk Bay Beach is rated as St John's best beach and although this is the less populated haven for nature lovers, Trunk bay is crowded. There are lifeguards on duty and you can rent snorkelling gear. The Caneel Bay Resort has 7 beaches on it and near to Caneel Bay is Hawknest Beach. These are not far from where the boats come into dock at Cruz Bay. The Cinnamon Bay campground also has a beach and its near to hiking trails. You can rent watersports equipment and snorkelling equipment.
St Thomas Beaches
Magens Bay is the most popular beach in St Thomas due to the fact that Cruise Ship passengers flock here to take a dip and lie in the sun. Magens Bay is situated on the Northeast area of the island in between two mountains. Snorkelling gear, kayaks, and changerooms are available. Coki Point Beach is on the Northeast part of the island too not far from Coral World. It has warm, clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling. You can also go parasailing, waterskiing, and kayaking here. Grand Beach also on the north island is just off of route 38. Sapphire Beach is the home of the Sapphire Beach Resort and is a good location for windsurfing. Lindquist beach near Wyndhan Sugar Bay Resort is less well known and might be a great place to avoid the crowds. Frenchman's Bay Beach is near the Frenchmans Reef Beach Resort about 2 miles east of Charlotte Amalie. Limtetree Beach has lots of shady palms to keep you out of the hot sun. Lindbergh beach has lifeguards, restrooms, and a bathhouse. Brewers Bay Beach is popular with families and is near the University of the Virgin Islands in the southwest area.
St Croix Beaches
St Croix is loaded with beautiful beaches. The best way to enjoy them is to rent a condo on the beach rather than trying to travel from Christiansted. Davis Bay and Cane Bay are two exceptional beaches on the north shore of the island of St Croix. There's lots of wind here, but there's palm trees and white sand too. Davis Beach doesn't have a reef which might be bad for snorkellers but it's perfect for those who love sandy beaches. Just west of Christiansted is the Cormorant Beach Club where you'll find almost a quarter mile of sandy beach. Just offshre is a reef where people snorkel. Rainbow Beach, just north of Frederiksted is a nice beach location. On the east side of the island is Isaac Bay Beach ideal for snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing.
