Animals on islands include donkeys, Iguanas, goats, and mongooses. Mongooses were introduced in the islands to control rats and they now proliferate in St John. The name of the popular place known as Mongoose junction is named for these local inhabitants.

While you're snorkeling you might see Blue Tangs, a small deep blue colored fish which swim near reefs and rocks. Sea Cucumbers float along the bottom of the seabed to feed. Spiny Sear Urchins have spines sticking out to protect them Starfish are not too common but you may find one. Lobsters are here too but they might be difficult to find.
